Electronic components are basic elements in electronic circuits, usually individually packaged and with two or more leads or metal contacts. These components need to be connected to each other to form electronic circuits with specific functions, such as amplifiers, radio receivers, oscillators, etc. One of the common ways to connect electronic components is to solder them to a printed circuit board (PCB). Electronic components can be individual packages (such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, transistors, diodes, etc.), or groups of varying complexity, such as integrated circuits (ICs).

Resistors are common components in electronic circuits, and their function is to control the flow of current. The size of the resistor is expressed in ohms (Ω), which tells us how strong the resistance to current is. The parameters of a resistor include resistance (value) and dissipated power (maximum power that can be sustained during long-term operation). Resistors come in a variety of materials and types, including fixed resistors, trimmer resistors, adjustable resistors (potentiometers), thermistors, varistors, etc.

Capacitors are generally represented by "C" plus a number in circuits, such as C13 for capacitor number 13. Capacitors are composed of two metal films close together, separated by insulating materials in the middle. Their main function is to block direct current and pass alternating current. The capacity of a capacitor indicates the amount of electrical energy that can be stored. The resistance to AC signals is called capacitive reactance, which is related to the frequency and capacitance of the AC signal.

Inductors are not used much in electronic production, but they are equally important in circuits. Inductors generate electromotive force through electromagnetic induction, which can store and release energy. The unit is Henry (H).

A diode is a semiconductor component with special properties. Current can only pass in one direction, but not in the reverse direction. Diodes are often used in rectification and switching circuits to convert AC into DC.

A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify and control current and is the cornerstone of modern electronic circuits. Transistors are of types such as NPN, PNP, and field effect transistors (FET), and work based on the conductive properties of semiconductors.

Integrated circuits (ICs) integrate multiple electronic components on a single chip, including microprocessors, memory, etc., and are the key to the development of electronic technology. ICs can be packaged in different shapes, such as DIP, SMD, etc.

The operational amplifier (Op-Amp) is a powerful signal processing component that is often used to amplify signals, filter noise, etc.

The selection and use of these components and assemblies are essential to building a fully functional electronic system. Their applications range from simple circuits to complex electronic devices, forming the cornerstone of modern electronic technology.
